Real-time project controls: How proactive data insights prevented a six-week delay

A 9.6MW data center was on course for an August 2023 operational launch. By late 2022, the owner was confident the schedule was on target. However, hidden issues threatened to push delivery back by six weeks.

With support from XYZ, the project remained on schedule. Real-time progress tracking exposed discrepancies between projected and actual work, enabling teams to coordinate effectively and recover the timeline. Upon completion, XYZ’s data-driven approach provided the owner with assurance that the facility was fully ready.

The data center went live on time. Delays were avoided, rework minimized, and revenue generation commenced immediately, maximizing financial returns.

At this turning point, the owner brought XYZ on board to provide clear, impartial progress data. Deploying XYZ’s innovative platform revealed the project lagging and slipping further behind week by week.

Objective, accurate reporting built trust across all teams, driving collective action to close the gap. 4D visual data confirmed progress was only at 9%, falling 5% short of schedule. Equipped with this knowledge, the owner and contractors devised a recovery plan, reallocating resources to regain momentum.
