The XYZ Roadshow has come to its end.
Thank you to everyone who came to see us, it is always amazing to see how far the data center industry has come in such a short space of time. We thoroughly enjoyed our time on the road, visiting amazing events, talking to wonderful people about fascinating topics, giving presentations, and showcasing our incredible technology. But for us, these five moments stood head and shoulders above the rest.
From Pyramids to Processors, F*!k Technology
Our Founder & CEO, David Mitchell, recently captivated an audience at DCAC USA with a TED-style talk that spanned the extraordinary evolution of the construction industry—from the monumental achievements of the Ancient Egyptians to the transformative future of data center delivery.
The talk highlighted just how far construction has come over these past 5,000 years, but also areas in which it has changed very little (building from 2D plans, for example). His vision for the future of construction eliminates rework by using holograms and real-time data to guide workers, ensuring accurate builds from the start.
Data, intelligence, and advanced technology are central to this vision, especially as demand surges for data centers. AI-driven analytics and IoT sensors provide real-time insights that enable smarter decision-making, optimize resources, and improve accuracy on-site. These innovations are essential for creating sustainable, resilient infrastructure to meet today’s digital demands.
XYZ’s resident golf pro took on hundreds of DCAC attendees
The XYZ team is made up of a diverse group of people from all walks of life. One such unique character is our Mission Critical Director and former PGA-pro golfer, Ash Curzon.
While he’s now fully immersed in his true passion, providing real-time insights to accelerate data center projects, he hasn’t lost his golf edge. So, when we sent him out to DCAC and DCAC Europe to play ‘beat the pro’, it was taken as a given that he would return undefeated.
It looked as though this would hold true until, at the end of the day, a tired but determined Ash Curzon was finally bested by one of his competitors—a game that will go down in history (at least for us!) as one for the books. Truly, it was a sight to behold.
While it’s easy to chuckle at Ash's crestfallen expression, he took on the challenge for charity – and raised an impressive amount in the process! Congratulations, Ash – you’ve done us proud!
Hundreds (or thousands) of demos
We love giving demos of our tech. The sense of wonder that goes through the eyes of a person exploring our platform and trying the Atom™ headset on for the first time never gets old.
It may sound cliche, but there is a sense of child-like wonder that we see in the eyes of so many when they first use the headset that brings us so much joy every time, we see it.
The possibilities sparked in the minds of users are vast, as they realize that real-time project controls powered by engineering grade augmented reality™, are transforming how mission-critical projects are executed. By enabling real-time visibility into every stage of a project, we’re empowering teams to identify and address risks before they become issues, dramatically de-risking complex builds.
This shift isn’t just about faster completion – it’s about precision, reducing errors, and, ultimately, moving toward a world without rework. With each advancement in project transparency and control, we’re not just envisioning the future of construction – we’re building it.
A spooky finale
Our final event took us to a Halloween party in London, hosted by the always fantastic GeN+1. The night was spectacular, with an array of incredible, creative costumes that truly set the scene. It was a memorable experience – not only for the amazing outfits but for the chance to connect with so many industry peers in such a fun, festive setting.
GeN+1 is committed to providing a community for the younger generation in the data center industry and hosts these events to establish and support the next generation. In times like these, when the labor pool is smaller than it has ever been, we are proud to be a supporter of this event and bringing the next generation into this rapidly growing industry.
A panel session to remember
Our Mission Critical Director Matt Torma was thrust into the limelight at DICE Dallas, where he took to the stage to deliver an impassioned display, weighing in on why the data center industry is now vital to the global economy and how real-time insights can deliver accelerated speed to market to keep this sector moving forward.
The crowd posed some insightful and challenging questions, highlighting the fast-paced growth of the industry. The consensus was clear: the ability of developers to keep up with this rapid evolution is crucial, marking the difference between success and failure in this dynamic landscape.
Thanks to everyone who came to see us, those at XYZ who took part and supported the mammoth 2-month roadshow. We’ll be back very soon with more events!
